Результати навчання: - understand the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany with particular emphasis on historical and comparative aspects;
- gain knowledge of how history shaped the current political system, the particular appearance of the German constitution, the electoral system, the significance of federalism, the significant role of the rule of law represented by the Federal
- be able to compare the most important aspects of German parlamentarism (the power of the Bundestag; role of the chancellor and the government) to other European parliamentary democracies.
- understand such concepts as the "state of the permanent grand coalition," "veto players" etc., and the effects of the peculiar German constitutional order on the conduct of the political process.
- have a general picture of recent developments and shifts in the party system and future challenges will be of concern.

Зміст дисципліни: the history of political developments of German federal system and the roots of political powers of German's regions; political changes and advances of German democracy; the processes of cooperation and power divisions between the federal level and the level of L?nder, the principles of political and policy transparence in Germany.

Форми та методи навчання: лекції, семінари, доповіді; курс викладається німецьким запрошеним викладачем із використанням педагогічних підходів, притаманних німецькій академічній традиції, з особливим наголосом на ґрунтовність підготовки до занять, що передбачає опрацювання науково

Методи й критерії оцінювання: Поточний контроль (60 %) усне опитування, виконання домашніх письмових робіт, активна участь у практичних заняттях. Підсумковий контроль (40 % контрольні завдання)., форма контролю - іспит.
