Academic calendar

In 2011, the academic year starts on September 1. The winter semester lasts for 17 weeks, week 8 being reserved for independent studies, and weeks 16 and 17 for the end-of-semester control. The winter holidays last for 2 weeks, including the week of Christmas. The spring semester starts on January 16, 2012, and lasts for 17 weeks as well, week 8 being reserved for independent studies, and weeks 16 and 17 for the end-of-semester control.

Additional term of the spring semester starts on May 14 and lasts for 7 weeks. The summer holidays start on July 2, 2012.

Credits for previously taken academic courses can be received within the first 10 days of a semester.

Students can sign up for elective courses and certificate programs in the second half of March. They can also withdraw from courses or register for additional ones within the first week of a semester.
