Program Profile

Professionals in finance are prepared to work in such economic areas as financial mediation, subsidiary activities in finance and insurance; activities in the field of accounting; subsidiary activities in state government, taxation management and supervision, management at the district, city and urban district level, rural management, activities in the field of social insurance, financial services of enterprises, organizations and institutions of various ownership and management forms.

A finance specialist is able to perform the following professional jobs: a head of financial, accounting, economic, legal and administrative departments, a manager of small businesses without management personnel, a dealer and broker of mortgage and financial operations, an insurance agent, and another specialist in finance and trade.

The total number of ECTS credits is 240 including: humanitarian and social economic disciplines - 36 credits; natural and scientific disciplines – 109,5 credits, professional and practical disciplines – 73,5 credits, optional disciplines for students’ choice - 21credit.

Key Learning Outcomes:

1) Knowledge in the Subject Area

  • management of irreversible and reversible assets of an enterprise (organization);
  • identification of the real needs for funds for the current financial and economic activities of an enterprise;
  • enterprise investment activity optimization;
  • forming effective sources of financial expenses; carrying out control over all stages of expenditure planning;
  • financial planning of revenues from product sales and extraordinary income, production pricing (work, services);
  • distribution and use of enterprise profits;
  • financial control over enterprise relations with commercial banks to open accounts,  to provide cash service, to establish deposits and obtain loans;
  • enterprise bankruptcy avoiding;
  • company’s property and responsibility insurance;
  • personal insurance (pension, medical, social);
  • income and expenditure planning of budgets of all levels;
  • drafting projects of consolidated balance sheets of financial resources in the corresponding  territory (region, city, district);
  • drafting and implementation of income and expenditure estimates of budgetary institutions;
  • monitoring the use of budget funds;
  • settlement of the State and local budgets;
  • organizing the exchange, depository, clearing and settlement activities;
  • accomplishment of transactions in the stock market, investments in securities, trust, leasing, factoring and financial transactions with a mortgage.

2) Cognitive Skills in the Subject Area

  • ability to use professionally profiled knowledge and practical skills in the fundamental disciplines in the processes of financial and economic activities management of enterprises;
  • ability to apply knowledge and skills to solve qualitative and quantitative tasks;

  • ability to use methodological techniques of research; to apply practical methods of financial process analysis, to use modern methods of systematic scientific analysis;

3) Practical Skills in the Subject Area

  • skills of applying research based methods to analyze and forecast the development of enterprises and organizations;
  • ability to make out accounting and operational paperwork, to calculate economic and financial performance indicators of an enterprise, organization and institution;
  • ability to prepare and conclude an insurance contract with the main types of personal, property, and liability insurance;
  • ability to apply information systems and technologies in finance;
  • ability to monitor rational formation and use of centralized and decentralized cash funds.

4) General Skills

  • ability to consider the influence of enterprise environment factors of direct and indirect effect on the  efficiency of economic activities of an enterprise, organization and institution;
  • ability to use various practical skills for computer data collection and processing;
  • skills to work efficiently with modern computers;
  • ability to apply knowledge in practice;
  • ability to perform self-education and continue professional development;
  • communicative skills, including oral and written communication in the Ukrainian language and at least one of the common European languages;
  • social interaction skills and those to work in groups, conflict and stress management;
  • ability to organize personal activities and effective time management.

The objects of the Bachelor’s  activity in the  educational field “Finance and credit” are the specific means and tools of the economic and financial activity management  of an enterprise, institution and organization; drafting and implementation of revenue and expenditure estimates of budgetary institutions, control of their fulfillment  etc.

Access to Further Education

A Bachelor in the educational field “Finance and Credit” can proceed with the Master training program in “Finance” and “Theory of Economics”.
