Program Profile

The students of the educational field “Ecology and Environment Protection” receive necessary knowledge in order to process paper on projects about environment protection at manufacture sites and institutions; they are able to coordinate international work in the field of natural resources use, use current law system and the results of complex analysis for ecological situations in natural parks fund, apply advanced methods complex ecological investigations, effectively use scientific and engineering literature and production engineering documents, use scientific, education engineering literature and current legal regulations literature. The students receive knowledge to master information research on the subject of investigation and skills to perform rescue measures and other urgent work in the damaged area and at national economy sites, human rescue skills, production methods and technical processes in urgent situations, set up experimental research in laboratories and in field conditions, biophysical and biochemical research in ecosystems, landscape and geochemical research, urban, historical and urban-ecological study, geo-ecological and recreation potential study, investigation and work out of new nature protection methods and procedures.

The curriculum offers the total amount of 120 ECTS credits including humanities, social and economic modules (16.5 credits), modules of professional and practical subjects (89.5 credits), and state accreditation (14 credits).

  • Ability to estimate ecological state and development trends of plants in a certain territory, realizing the value of flora and fauna and landscape variability of territory, to provide grounds for projects on bio-corridors creation.
  • Skills to research functioning structure and laws of nature complexes, flora and fauna species, influence of environment factors on them in process of creating a net of natural national parks.
  • Ability to work out theory and ecologic engineering grounds of projecting, constructing and use of technologies and technical means of environment protection especially in extraordinary situations.

The fields of professional activities for Masters in the subject area “Ecology and Environment Protection” include institutions of all branches in industry, scientific and research institutions, where potential threats for the environment and biosphere in general can occur.
Master in Ecology participates in experiments, observations and measuring of pollution levels of the environment, performs analysis, summarizes research results and encourages publications.
