University year at the NaUKMA consists of three terms; it starts on September 1st and finishes on June 28th with a solemn graduation ceremony.
The first (autumn) term in 2012-2013 university year lasts for 14 weeks, with the 9th week (October 24-30) reserved as a reading week, and is followed by a two-week examination period (December 12-23). Winter vacations last from December 24 till January 8.
The second (spring) term starts on January 9, lasts for 12 weeks and is followed by a two-week examination period (April 2-13).
Within the following 6 weeks (summer or additory term), short optional courses are taught for students of non-graduate years, while senior students spend this time for completing their theses and getting prepared to defence, or for passing state attestation exams. First-years student of some specializations have internships during the summer term.
Summer vacations last from June 29 till August 31.
