Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov visited NaUKMA

On February 26, the Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov visited NaUKMA to discuss cooperation within the Old Kyiv Programme, focused on preserving historical and architectural monuments of the city.

NaUKMA President Serhiy Kvit guided guests from the State Administrations of Kyiv and Podil during an excursion around the historical premises of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Later, in the Assembly Hall of the university Senate, a plan of cooperation was drafted in order to arrange both on governmental and city levels celebration of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy 400th Anniversary, and to develop Kyiv as a tourist capital of Ukraine. Restoration of the Old Academy Building and of the Hegumen’s House, as well as perspectives of the Hospitable Courtyard (Hostynnyi Dvir) were also discussed. Oleksandr Popov suggested several important initiatives for the Kyiv City State Administration to further development of the NaUKMA, and for the NaUKMA to further development of Kyiv. This was the first discussion of such kind since the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy revived. We hope for partnership and fruitful cooperation in the future.
