On October 5, Ocean Elsy’s leader Svyatoslav Vakarchuk held a special performance at NaUKMA.
The event was aimed at raising funds for charity projects: medicine for ATO participants and equipment for distant study labs at NaUKMA.
Svyatoslav spoke to the audience, and his monologue story about being a musician was combined with songs and music that influenced his development as an artist.
Over 700 guests attended the event, and before the performance began, applauds went to five soldiers-volunteers present in the concert hall; three of the volunteers belong to Kyiv-Mohyla community.
The total sum of funds raised is 426 000 UAH. 107 000 UAH will go to the charity project Defense of Patriots, acting under the guide of the Ukrainian World Congress. The sum will cover the cost of more than 80 personal first aid kits, meeting NATO standards. Volunteers and experts of Defense of Patriots deliver the first aid kits to the frontline and provide soldiers with necessary training on usage.
The rest of funds will be spent of equipment for distant study labs at NaUKMA, to enable students all over Ukraine, from Donbas and Crimea in particular, to get distant access to lectures, seminars and web-conferences held at NaUKMA. Distant study labs make part of a large institutional project 21st Century Networks, within the frame of the campaign Freedom. Leadership. Innovations. We create the future together, dated to the 400th anniversary of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
The fundraising for the both projects, medicine for ATO participants and equipment for distant study labs at NaUKMA, will last till October 20. All willing to support the initiative of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk are welcomed to join!
All NaUKMA community expresses the deepest grate and respect to Svyatoslav Vakarchuk!
We are also grateful to the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theatre of Drama and the Vatmir LLC.
