International Roundtable: "Remembering the Holocaust: Educational Practices and Ways of Development in Modern Ukraine"

On the occasion of the Hungarian presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" Ukrainian Association of Jewish Studies in cooperation with the International Fund "Renaissance" and supported by the Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine and IHRA will hold a round table entitled "Remembering Holocaust: Educational Practices and Ways of Development in Modern Ukraine".


Teaching and commemorating Holocaust in independent Ukraine has intensified significantly. The participants of the round table will discuss urgent issues related to the teaching processes and perpetuation of the memory of Holocaust, discuss various aspects of educational and outreach activities, as well as the Holocaust remembrance in Ukraine.

 

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) is an intergovernmental body whose purpose is to place political and social leaders’ support behind the need, both nationally and internationally, for education, remembrance and research of the Holocaust. Thirty-one states are acting members of the Alliance. Ukraine intends to join Alliance as an observer.
