The Career Fair 2018 was held at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

The Annual Career Fair takes place at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy for the 26 th time this year. Among the employers who came to present their career opportunities to our students this were was a number of the biggest, most successful and prestigious companies, both national and international – the list includes 1+1 Media, 3Shape, Arzinger, AVELLUM, BAKER TILLY, EVO, EY, KPMG, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, PwC, Redcliffe Partners, Sigma Software, Transparency International Ukraine, Unilever Ukraine, «Burda-Ukraine», Deloitte, Infopuls, КМ Partmers, Sanofi, Illiashev & Partners, CITI Ukraine, Roshen Corporation, Roland Berger, RB Ukraine.

The event was oriented on the senior students, but the actual auditory included even freshers. The employers made their presentations bright and interesting, with funny contests, intellectual games and many souvenirs. Many companies proposed the students to start their career right on the spot, during their studies, so a lot of internships in multiple fields were offered, which most of the students consider to be a great investment into their professional future.

We have asked the representatives of the employers what are they looking for in the Academy and what are the biggest risks with new workers. Here are some of the answers we got:

“We are currently looking for interns, because our company is growing fast. We gonna have a lot of work this summer, so we need many bright people, who will help our development and develop their own skills in the sphere of law. We are looking for the interns in Kyiv-Mohyla Academy because we know that our Department of Law is very strong. Besides, one of our heads works in the Academy, so we’ve got constant tight contacts.”

“We have been participating in the Career Fairs in all the leading universities, including Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, for several years now. We are looking for talented young people, last years’ students, both Bachelors and Masters, who are willing to launch their career in an international organization by taking an internship. We need specialists in the spheres of finance, business, economics and law, who show high interest in the international career. One of the most common problem with freshers is their level of English – as candidates they tend to overestimate their own skills. Also we are looking for workers with a good theoretical background, so that we give them more practical skills. The other usual problem in the lack of flexibility, critical thinking, and the narrow thinking of many young candidates.”
