СRDF Global’s E-Learning Course “Basic Security Rules in the Digital Environment” for students of NaUKMA

In the framework of cooperation between the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Civilian Research and Development Foundation of the USA (CRDF Global) this fall the students of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy have an opportunity to take a free E-learning course in the basics of cyber hygiene and, in case of successful completion of the course, get a CRDF Global’s certificate.

 

E-learning course in the basics of cyber hygiene “Basic Security Rules in the Digital Environment” is developed by CRDF Global, in cooperation with the cybersecurity expert group of Ernst&Young (EY) in Ukraine and technical experts of Technomatix, under the Cybersecurity Program in Ukraine 2019 implemented with support from the US Department of State (Office of the Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia).


The aim of the CRDF Global’s course “Basic Security Rules in the Digital Environment” is to raise awareness and increase the general level of knowledge in the field of cybersecurity among students of Ukrainian universities. Since 2019, 5373 students from 12 leading universities of Ukraine have successfully completed the course. At NaUKMA, the course is part of the "Introduction to Mohylyanski Studies" course and starts in September 2021 for the first-year students, as well as for all other students of NaUKMA, who want to gain important knowledge in cybersecurity.

 

The course consists of 11 educational modules, which students have the opportunity to complete modularly at a convenient for everyone time, taking breaks and recording the results for each module separately. One of the modules is a post-test module.

 

During the course students will be able to:

  • learn about the main threats in the modern information space;
  • analyze common user mistakes and the consequences of malicious attacks by hackers and cyber-fraudsters;
  • learn the basic rules of information protection on personal electronic devices and in the social networks;
  • learn to identify fake news;
  • master basic recommendations for the protection of personal data, safe use of electronic devices and information resources.

 

Upon successful completion of the course, students have a unique opportunity to receive personal CRDF Global’s certificate. In order to obtain a certificate – students need to pass all the modules of the course and perform a general test for a passing score.
