On May 3, 2025, the delegation of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy visited the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America and had the honor to take part in a warm and productive meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova and Counselor at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA Kateryna Smagliy.  

The key topics for discussion included: 

• innovative programs and approaches to increasing the publication activity of Ukrainian researchers as a factor of academic diplomacy; 

• educational and academic diplomacy as a tool for developing the international image of Ukrainian universities; 

• partnership initiatives with American universities: faculty exchange, joint courses, grant programs; 

• development of the Ukrainian studies at the American universities. 

The delegation from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy included Olha Poliukhovych, Vice President for Research and Academic Affairs; Dmytro Mazin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities; Nataliia Rudnytska, Head of the English Language Department; Volodymyr Venher, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Ivan Yatskevych, Head of the Department of Private Law. 

This meeting was an important step in strengthening cooperation between the academic community of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States of America, opening up new opportunities for further development of education, science and cultural diplomacy.

The visit of NaUKMA representatives to the United States is possible thanks to the project “Ukrainian Scholars’ Seminar for NaUKMA” at Georgetown University, implemented by the Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation in Ukraine with the support of the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund.
