The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine met with KMA students

November 8, a meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to Ukraine Mari Yovanovitch with the students of NaUKMA took place at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

The Ambassador focused on the topic of USA-Ukrainian relations, in particular, on the causes of strong support of Ukraine from the USA.

Mari Yovanovitch believes that now Ukrainian-American relations are stronger than ever. And one of the important reason is the common values – in 2014, Americans saw how Ukrainian people came on the Maidan and demanded for democratic freedoms, respect for their dignity, compliance with laws, the elimination of corruption and effective reforms. The Americans understood this aspiration because it is the values and principles on which their country is built.

During the meeting the Amassador and students talked also about important reforms for Ukraine - in the institutional, economic and social spheres. Marie Yovanovitch highlighted that, given the potential of Ukraine and her younger generation, she sees the future of Ukraine as really optimistic.
