Kyiv-Mohyla Academy held the Charity Evening-2017

 

The largest Charity Evening in recent years has gathered about 300 friends, benefactors and partners of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in the Art Arsenal on November 19. This year, the goal of the Charity Evening was the project of the Campus Digitization. It involves applying of innovative approaches to training and enhancing the University's performance through the using of digital technologies.

 

This year's event gathered, as usual, a viable and respected company - Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, members of international organizations, government officials, businessmen, public and cultural figures, and professors. There particular guests were invited - graduates of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy who participated as ATO volunteers.

 

A special guest of the evening was Anne Applebaum, a world-famous journalist, writer, historian. The editor at The Economist, columnist and member of the editorial board of The Washington Post, the Pulitzer Prize–winning author, the author of the best-selling "Gulag: A History" (Pulitzer Prize), "Red Famine: Stalin's War on Ukraine", the Professor of the most prestigious universities in the world – these are only some of her titles and achievements.

 

During the preparation and conduction of the Charity Evening it was fund raised  more than 1,1 mln UAH thanks to the partners, charitable contributions for participation and a charity auction.. It was declared income from abroad at the amount of 25 thousand dollars (650 thousand UAH). Altogether about 1,8 mln UAH.

 

 Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is grateful to the partners of the Charity Evening. Without this help and support, this event could not have happened! Among them are foreign donors “Heritage Foundation” (USA), “Selfreliance Ukrainian American Federal Credit Union” (USA), Kyiv-Mohyla Foundation of America and its president Marta Farion (USA), among Ukrainian partners are: “Vasyl Kisil and Partners”, “ILTA”, Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, Oksana Markarova and Danylo Volynets Family, “Arzinger” , Sergiy & Eugene Gusovski, “Jacobs”, Cofco Agri Ukraine, Kyiv office of “Baker McKenzie”.  

 

Funds will be spent on the implementation of the Digital Campus project (excluding funds to cover organizational costs for the event preparation).

 

 We are sincerely grateful to all our partners and like-minded people! With your support we continue developing Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and help fulfilling its mission!
